Biography
Karissa Heslep is a Graphic Designer with a Bachelor’s degree from Pensacola Christian College. She is a native Texan and is the fourth-generation in her family tree to be born there. Her main fortes are HTML and CSS coding, logo design, vector art creation and photography. Some of the work she has done includes updating the logo for Chero-Key Piping. Her design style presents a solid, traditional, and clean elements into it that have been influenced greatly by the theme of water and nature since she was a kid. For as long as she can remember, she has been drawing to pass the time away. Her mother homeschooled her but because she was not an artist, she put her into art classes since she was five years old. Because of this she has competed in many local homeschool community art competitions that brought in actual artists to be the judges. Her artwork usually won first, second, or third place. For hobbies, she enjoys photography, cooking, gardening, and drawing. She also enjoys the occasional hunting and fishing trip.

Artist Statement
Nature and antique things are a major influence on my art, as are my moods. Especially when I’m feeling down, in those times my feelings inspire me to draw to forget about my mood and they usually turn out to be my best ideas. Rainy days or a clear night sky can also set me in the mood to be creative and draw. I also find influence in the Japanese art called anime, especially the style in which characters and backgrounds are designed.
My goals are to present quality work, while also to try to maintain a reasonable deadline. Whenever I am creating art, I always try to keep in mind the fact that I want it to bring glory to God, and that my work should always be the highest quality because God has stated “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (I Corinthians 10:31). I try to base my artwork off of this verse because that is what I want to give my clients. And this will ultimately bring me to my final goal, to see people enjoy and appreciate the work I have done for them.
